The transfer case tool is mainly dedicated to transfer selected object definitions, including object definitions on which the selected objects are dependent, from one ProcMan installation to another. However it can also be used for creating copies of objects in one ProcMan installation.
The dialog of the tool can be started by clicking the Transfer Case menu item. After the dialog has been started the list of objects selected for transfer from the definition dialogs of clients, roles, calendars, search areas, actions, global definitions and/or process definitions is displayed. Further a list of objects on which the selected objects are dependent is displayed as well.
The dialog can be left by clicking the Cancel button or by clicking another menu item.
The objects listed in the two lists can be exported by clicking the Export button. In this case the definitions are written in a file which can be downloaded from the ProcMan server to the local PC in the displayed file download dialog.
Objects selected by user can be removed from the Transfer Case by selecting them (checking the check-box in the beginning of the table rows) and clicking the Remove button. All objects can be removed from the Transfer Case by clicking the Clear button.
By clicking the Import button definitions previously exported from the Transfer Case of another or the same installation of ProcMan can be imported. In the displayed file upload dialog select the file containing the exported definitions and confirm the upload. The definitions from the uploaded file are listed in a displayed import dialog.
Objects which are already defined in ProcMan are marked in the table with the status Existing. Objects which have to be created have the status New. If there are some conflicts in the imported definitions, the corresponding objects have the status Conflict. In this case also a conflict description section is displayed above the table, which can be expanded or collapsed (initial status) and contains detailed description of the found conflicts. The new object definitions can only be imported if there are no conflicts. The dialog allows changing of the object names, parent objects and client assignment before the objects are created. This feature allows you also to solve eventual conflicts.
The dialog can be left by clicking the Cancel button or by clicking another menu item.
By selecting (checking the check-box in the beginning of table rows) and clicking the Remove button you can remove objects from the list. Beware that only objects on which no other objects in the list are dependent can be removed.
By clicking the Reset button all changes done in the list of imported objects are discarded and the list is reinitialized to the initial state read from the uploaded file.
By clicking the Check button the current list of imported objects including any changes is rechecked for eventual conflicts. After the check the dialog is displayed again with the actualized status of objects.
By clicking the OK button the current list of imported objects including any changes is rechecked for eventual conflicts. If there are no conflicts found the new object definitions are created in ProcMan. If the check found some conflicts the dialog is displayed again with the actualized status of objects.
Beware that the Transfer Case import does not change the objects which already existed before the import has been started. Therefore the Transfer Case cannot be used for making updates of already existing objects, but only for to create new objects.
