Authentication by a z/OS system is an alternative way to verify the user and password on login in ProcMan. By this method, the user and password are sent to and verified on the z/OS system using HORIZONT z/OS utilities.
z/OS system configurations can be managed in the dialog started by clicking the z/OS button in the accounts list form. After that a list of already configured z/OS systems is displayed (see picture below).
By clicking the Cancel button the dialog returns to the accounts list.
A new z/OS system configuration can be defined by clicking the New button in the accounts list form. After that, a form with the z/OS system configuration definition fields appears (see picture below).
After filling the fields in this form and clicking the OK button the new configuration is created and appears in the z/OS system configuration list. By clicking the Cancel button the dialog returns to the z/OS system configuration list without creating a new configuration.
The field Name has to be filled with a unique name of the configuration. The name of the configuration can contain simple alphanumerical characters (ä, š, ô, etc. are not allowed), underscores, dots and spaces. Spaces at the beginning and the end are ignored. After submitting the form, the name is converted into uppercase. The name can be selected in the z/OS Login field of the account form or in the change password form to specify, that this configuration shall be used for the authentication of the account.
The field Server (IP or DNS) has to be filled with the IP address or the DNS name of the z/OS system.
The field Port has to be filled with the port on which the HORIZONT z/OS utilities service (also known as HORJLST) on the z/OS system is waiting for connections.
The field Member has to be filled with the member name of the HORIZONT z/OS utilities handler (also known as HORJSRV) on the z/OS system. After submitting the form, the name is converted into uppercase.
A z/OS system configuration definition can be edited by selecting it in the z/OS system configuration list form (checking the check-box at the beginning of the table row) and clicking the Edit button in the configuration list form. Alternatively a configuration definition can be edited also by clicking on the configuration name in the table of the z/OS system configuration list form. After that a form with the z/OS system configuration definition fields appears. This form has the same input fields like the form for a new configuration definition.
An z/OS system configuration definition can be copied by selecting it in the z/OS system configuration list form (checking the check-box at the beginning of the table row) and clicking the Copy button in the configuration list form. After that the form for a new configuration, prefilled with the values of the selected configuration appears. Before saving the configuration definition at least the name of the configuration has to be changed.
One or more z/OS system configurations can be deleted by selecting them in the z/OS system configuration list form (checking the check-box at the beginning of the table rows) and clicking the Delete button in the configuration list form.
